The North Face retail experience turns the inside into outside, creating a new destination where customers can live the aspirations of the brand. The North Face apparel protects the body as the store protects the brand’s challenge to live life outside and “never stop exploring”.
The “inside is outside” concept is brought to life at multiple points throughout the store. Material sensibilities communicate through all five senses; customers are immersed in the full context of the product as it was made to be used—a changing room becomes a climate room, where the temperature adjusts to mimic the conditions of the product’s intended use. The customer’s surroundings become the world they aspire to live in.
